Holiday Open Studio, One More Weekend

mug with stripes Lucy Fagella

My pottery has been going to lots of new homes the past two weekends for my open studio days. It was about time I kept one for my own kitchen! Sometimes you just have to keep a special one for yourself.

This mug had a big glaze drip on the bottom under the handle. I let the bench grinder work it’s magic and got it smooth enough to sell as a second, but thought nope- this one feels too good in my hands and the glaze came out just the way I intended it to. This rich, deep color doesn’t happen all the time, only when the glaze is applied thick…and sometimes this can create glaze drips onto the kiln shelf.

I also like the four finger handle. I used to gravitate towards two or three finger handles, but the four finger mug handle is slowly winning me over.

Come to the studio this weekend and bring home that special piece of pottery for your kitchen! All pottery is 10% off my website prices!

December 18th-19th, from 10am - 4pm both days.
