Making for the Asparagus Valley Pottery Trail

The Pottery Trail is a self guided tour of 8 pottery studios in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts. It’s a two hour drive from Boston and two and a half hour drive from the New York metro area. For those of you who are too far from the New England area we also have an online version of the Pottery Trail! The online component begins at noon on April 29th.

We are in our 18th year of this much anticipated event. The potters are all professional full time makers who open their studios for two days. Each host potter has invited guest potters from various parts of the country that also join them at their studio, so all in all their are 23 potters to see and purchase work from during the weekend! It’s an exciting event to participate in, whether you are the maker or the visitor. I am a founding member of the group, and it is my favorite event of the year!

I have been very busy making my functional pottery for the kitchen for the Trail. This week I will end the "making" cycle and begin the long process of glazing the pottery and firing the kilns. There will be so many pots to see and purchase at my studio!

I have two guest potters this year. Noel Bailey from Waitsfield VT, and Cara Taylor from Northampton, MA. You can see their work on their website links at their name.

So come visit us on the Pottery Trail this year!

Or head to  lucyfagella.com/shop at noon EDT Friday April 29th.

You can also go to the Asparagus Valley Pottery Trail website apotterytrail.com which will lead you to each shop.

Below are some photos of work on progress at my studio. Hope to see you on the Trail!
